Our quick assessment will help guide you through.
Every marriage is different, and so is every divorce. It’s normal to be unsure which course of action best suits your situation. Cage & Miles is here to help you determine the best path, whether it’s marriage counseling or initiating the divorce process through mediation or litigation. We understand the stress that can accompany these decisions, and we’re committed to providing you with the information and resources you need to feel confident about your next steps.
Starting the divorce process can be intimidating. Be sure to understand your options so you can move forward with confidence. Take the quiz and find the information you need to move forward:
Like mediation, collaborative divorce is private and hands-on. However, you and your spouse will work with a larger team to reach an agreement. In addition to a mediator, you may work with a financial advisor, a mental health professional, an accountant, an asset appraiser, and others.
The Negotiated Settlement is an agreement reached by the parties outside of court but not necessarily through the mediation process. In San Diego County the court requires a mandatory settlement conference as a mandatory step before your divorce case goes to trial. If a negotiated settlement is reached, the parties will avoid the emotional and financial ordeal of going to court. The negotiations remain confidential and allow for a little more flexibility.
